Online payments are processed through our third-party payment providers, which handle payment information in accordance with their own privacy and security practices.
If you provide payment card details to us verbally, for example to process an order over the telephone, the details are entered directly for payment processing and are not separately recorded or retained by us.
3. Sensitive information you choose to provide
Because our products are often used by people with sensory, disability and other individual needs, customers sometimes voluntarily tell us information about themselves or another person when asking for product advice, contacting us or adding notes to an order.
This may include information about health, disability, diagnosis, neurodevelopmental conditions or sensory needs. Some of this information may be considered sensitive information under Australian privacy law.
We do not generally require customers to provide health or disability information in order to purchase our products.
If you voluntarily provide sensitive information to us, we will handle it in accordance with applicable privacy laws and use it only where reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was provided, where you have consented, or where otherwise permitted or required by law.
If you are providing sensitive information about another person, please consider whether it is necessary to do so and whether you have their authority to provide it.

We may also collect information automatically when you use our websites through cookies and similar technologies.
In some circumstances, information may be provided to us by third parties, such as payment providers, delivery providers, ecommerce platforms, marketing platforms or other service providers involved in providing our services.

6. Email and SMS marketing
We may send you marketing communications by email and, occasionally, SMS where you have consented or where we are otherwise permitted to do so.
Our marketing communications will identify us and provide a way for you to unsubscribe.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in the message and from SMS marketing using the opt-out instructions provided in the message.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending non-marketing communications that are necessary in connection with your orders, account, customer service enquiries or our legal obligations.
7. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our websites use cookies and similar technologies to operate the sites, remember preferences, understand website use, improve performance and customer experience, measure marketing effectiveness and, where applicable, provide or measure advertising.
These technologies may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser information, pages viewed, interactions with our websites and information about how you arrived at our websites.
We may use ecommerce, analytics, advertising, social media and other technology providers to assist with these functions.
You may be able to control certain cookies through your browser settings and, where available, the privacy or cookie controls provided on our websites.
8. Who we may share personal information with
We do not sell your personal information as a business activity.
We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to operate our businesses, including to:
- Shopify and other ecommerce and technology service providers;
- payment processors and financial service providers;
- postal, courier and delivery providers;
- IT, website development and hosting providers;
- marketing, advertising, analytics, email and SMS service providers;
- professional advisers such as accountants, lawyers and consultants;
- contractors and agencies who assist us in operating our businesses;
- authorised staff and team members who require access to perform their roles;
- government, regulatory, law enforcement or other bodies where required or authorised by law; and
- other parties where you have authorised us to disclose the information.
Access to personal information within our business is limited as appropriate to people’s roles and responsibilities.
Our orders are currently fulfilled in Australia by our own team rather than an external third-party fulfilment warehouse.
9. Overseas customers and overseas service providers
We sell products to customers in Australia and a number of other countries, including New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom.
Some of the technology and service providers we use may operate, store information or process information outside Australia. Their service infrastructure, personnel and subcontractors may also be located in multiple countries.
As a result, personal information may in some circumstances be disclosed to or processed by recipients outside Australia.
The countries involved may vary depending on the particular service provider, technology and service being used. Where required by Australian privacy law, we take reasonable steps in relation to overseas disclosures of personal information.
10. Shopify and third-party services
Our online stores are operated using Shopify.
When you use our websites or purchase from us, information may be processed through Shopify and other third-party applications and services that help us provide ecommerce, payments, communications, analytics, marketing and other business functions.
Those providers may process personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies and contractual arrangements with us.
We review the services we use from time to time, and those services may change as our business and technology change.
11. How we protect personal information
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
These measures include appropriate access controls and account permissions, limiting access to personal information according to people’s roles and responsibilities, and reviewing access to systems containing customer information.
Where a staff member, contractor or other authorised person no longer requires access, we take steps to remove that access promptly.
No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure. If we become aware of a data breach, we will assess and respond to it in accordance with applicable law, including the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme where applicable.
12. How long we keep personal information
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, for legitimate business purposes, and to meet legal, accounting, taxation and record-keeping obligations.
When personal information is no longer required for a purpose for which we are permitted to retain it, we take reasonable steps to destroy it or de-identify it, subject to any legal requirements requiring us to retain it.
13. Accessing or correcting your personal information
You may contact us to request access to personal information we hold about you or to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
We may need to verify your identity before providing access to or changing personal information.
In some circumstances Australian privacy law allows us to refuse an access or correction request. If that occurs, we will explain our decision where required by law.
14. Privacy complaints
If you have a question or concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us using the details below.
Please provide enough information for us to understand and investigate your concern.
We will take your complaint seriously, investigate it and aim to respond within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be entitled to make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Information about making a privacy complaint is available from the OAIC.
15. Children and information about other people
Our products may be purchased for children, but purchases and customer accounts should be made or managed by an adult where appropriate.
Please avoid providing personal or sensitive information about a child or another person unless it is reasonably necessary and you are authorised to provide that information.

If you are located outside Australia, local privacy laws may provide you with additional rights in relation to your personal information.
Where those laws apply to our activities, we will handle applicable requests and obligations in accordance with those laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our business practices, technology, service providers or legal obligations.
The current version will be published on our websites and the “Last updated” date at the top of the policy will indicate when it was most recently revised.
