Ideally suited to those that like strong sensory input. The Kaiko Wrist Spikey Fidget is one of our most popular fidgets for those who need deep and focused pressure to assist with self-regulation.
The Kaiko wrist spikey is discreet to wear and is primarily used as a harm minimisation tool that provides 'hurt without harm'. We highly recommend watching the video on various ways to use both the finger and wrist spikey as the most effective for replacement of S.H. is the least obvious often. Highly recommend if getting it for this purpose the Spikey Set as it has both wrist and finger spikeys.
Also frequently used to minimise picking at skin, fingernails, fingers & clothing.
If wanting to wear it all day we recommend for most (youth and adults) that the Large, Large PLUS A BIT or the XL be purchased. More details below re sizing.
We have had customers who’ve bought the wrist spikey fidget from us and told us it has been the best tool to help them warding against tendency to S.H, as it provides 'ouch' without damaging the skin. Of course, the spikey fidget does not replace accessing professional help. It is a useful tool for the kit-bag.

The Kaiko Spikey for wrist helps with self-regulation, calming, focus, concentration, tactile awareness and as a substitution for unhealthy/unhelpful behaviours.
We have also had a number of customers report it being helpful in reducing pain & disturbed sensation in arms and muscles. Please consult your treating clinician regarding specific use for your specific condition.
They come in a range of sizes and NOW also in colours. Colour versions can be found in separate listings. It is made of a powder coated carbon steel metal that is 'woven' to be stretchy and flexible.
Some ways to use the wrist spikey...
- Press & Twist - while on wrist, press with other hand applying pressure and twist (similar to a 'Chinese burn'). This technique has been particularly helpful for some in minimising self-harm.
- Roll up & down the arm
- Rub between two palms
- Fidget & Stim - Hold in one or two hands to fidget
- Flick - Wear on wrist, ankle or even at elbow & flick (elbow can create a tingling)
- Clench - Wear over palm (around hand) and clench, squeeze & pulse
- Rub - on parts of the body to replace picking, such as lips, fingers, feet.
Please note if wearing the wrist spikey for any period of time that it is important to monitor the skin to ensure it it is not compromising circulation. Many who like this also like the Kaiko Spikey for finger.
Also touted to have remedial benefit, stimulating acupressure points & assisting with circulation. These are stretchy but firm.
How do I SELECT the Right SIZE?
Kaiko Spikey for wrist comes in 6 sizes.
The sizing selected for the wrist spikey is very personal. Many of those that have tried it and find it helpful end up getting a range of sizes to use in different contexts/situations.
At first glance, it’s easy to assume sizing selection is best based on size of wrist or age of person using it. This is certainly one contributing factor, however over time its become clear that is isn't the only thing to consider.
Its so important especially with the wrist spikey to select best size for purpose.
The wrist spikey is used in used 2 main ways –
1. for high sensory input rolled up and down arm -The small & medium are great for strong input, but generally not comfortable to wear all day, more a 'use as required and then store away' size. The smaller, the more sensory input it provides when rolled.
2. for harm minimisation /high input when distressed (twisted and pressed into wrist buy other hand in the moment of need) – for this you want the product to be wearable and literally on hand as needed.
To wear it all day you want it to not band or create restriction. When using it in this way the size isn’t what delivers the high input, it’s the pressure on twisting that does. SO a comfortable wearing sizes is what you're best to select.
For very small wrists the large is good but for your average child to adult it’s the Large 'plus a bit' or the XL that is best. The XXL for larger/chunky wrists or for use on ankles.
So essentially - if twisting it around wrist the same amount of input can be achieved using any of the sizes. It is the pressure from the other hand that creates the degree of "ouch".

PETITE WRIST : SIZE LARGE: 17 cm length - For all day wear for younger children or for petite wrists.
AVERAGE WRIST : SIZE LARGE 'PLUS A BIT': 18 cm length - For all day wear for youth and average size wrists.
LARGER WRIST : SIZE XL: 20.5cm length for the XL - this often the best size for ALL DAY wear for most teens & adults.
VERY LARGE WRIST or LEG : SIZE XXL: 24cm length -This is suitable for ankles and very large wrist
For compression on roll & NOT all day wear select...
SIZE SMALL: 12.5 cm length - more for compression on roll. or
SIZE MEDIUM: 14.5cm length - TINY wrists or this is a great size for intense input for adult wrists to use as needed, then take off.

- The metal is highly durable but can be overstretched if used not in accordance with its typical use by rigorous stretching. It is not meant to be pulled or twisted significantly. They may not suit some that like to pull things apart. It will not recover if overstretched or broken.

Dayln I have looked up your parcel (it is an overseas parcel) and can see it was uncollected and returned to us at our expense from usa. for international orders we also email you details of tracking separately and advise it’s critical to check every few days as usa post notorious for returning if not collected if not home for delivery. we did email you regarding arranging postage again but can’t see any contact? we are more than happy to resend however have already paid international shipping and return. if you can reply to our email sent re next steps that would be amazing so we can get it on its way. :) jo
Discreet enough that it looks like a scrunchy or bracelet, it makes it easy to wear to work. I am finding it super helpful during the day for a deeper sensory input, and it has reduced my skin picking when at work. Love it!
I AM IN LOVE! it fits me perfectly! I was so excited to use it and actually cried when they left me a little note along with my purchase. I said in another review that the caterpillar & oil slick cube are my favourite Kaiko fidgets, but I’d forgotten about my wrist & finger spikies! I’m fairly slim (wrist circumference 13ish cm) so I ordered the 14.5cm wrist spikey & it’s a perfect fit. I only take it off for showering, sleeping, & active fidgeting. Having something on me all the time that’s quiet & discreet is invaluable. When I’m particularly anxious or have bad hair-pulling urges, I gently stretch the spikey (it’s never stretched out size), & roll it inside-out-inside-out-inside-out. It’s also been useful for helping my self-harm urges.
The spikey has been very helpful! It's quite tight on my wrist so I usually only put it on when I need it rather than wearing it around. It's also good to scrunch up and squeeze.
Took this into hospital when I needed a mental health time out. All the mental health workers were fascinated that such a “tool”existed.

I got the small spiky because I have skeletally small wrists (this is not really an exaggeration; I can’t really wear bracelets because they slide up to/past my elbows). Ordering this size was a calculated risk that I took and it paid off but be mindful when selecting yours. It’s quite tight on me and fits what I need it for. I would definitely not wear it for extended periods of time though because it is tight. It stretches easily and twisting it gives me the sharp sensation I need to reduce peeling off my skin lol. I thoroughly enjoy its intensity and it’s unique in that ability. I’d recommend this product and also recommend following the sizing guide to make sure you get one that fits your needs.

this one isn’t meant to be tight. it’s best to not quite hug the wrist ie be loose for all day wear. the way to use it for safe ouch is not to roll or flick. it’s to place other hand over it press in and twist around inside of wrist applying pressure (see video on product or qr code that came with it :). hope that helps jo

This has been instrumental in reducing maladaptive behaviour in myself.
I thought it may give more of a painful feeling. Maybe I got one that was too big?
Hi Joanne, its Jo (also) grin. Im very confident you're yet to use it in the most 'ouchy' way. There is a video showing that (its the least obvious way) however also happy to face time you if you like and i can demonstrate it live if helpful (0419874851). Our other two max ouch items are the calm buddi and also the spikeyring but i promise I've had others say a similar thing in person at events we have been exhibiting at and when I show them how to use it for safe ouch the 'yelp'. Hope this helps. If you have our finger spikey try it on middle finger and clench a fist , it also really hurts (safely).
I bought this for my son but I also enjoy it, what a surprise! If you are looking for a thing that I would describe as "kind ouch", this is it. It feels grounding and not painful, exactly (though this can be achieved with pressure), but it definitely gives deep, grounding stimulation.

EUROPE : Unfortunately EU is an exception. Customs in many EU locations have been bouncing parcels and RTS, without explanation so we have had to suspend sending to the location as the goods are just not getting through.
Please note that charges do not include any duty/taxes charged by your country's port authorities (if applicable). You will be responsible for any charges they may add. We are unable to quote these as they vary immensely from country to country.

If an international parcel is taking longer that it should, do let us know and we will follow up with carrier. RE SQUISHIES - Due to the flexible, squishy & stretchy nature of these products, it does mean they don’t last forever. It would be awesome if they did, but unfortunately they don't...
Depending on how they are used, they can last an hour, week or a year. All squishy and stretchy items are durable, but not indestructible. Squishies typically have a plug/join where they were filled. This is its most vulnerable spot, so if at all possible it is best to use this palm side in so the least amount of pressure is placed in the join. This will maximise its life.
They are not recommended for children who may try to bite, chew or ingest the contents. Avoid aggressive or excessive squishing, stretching and contact with any sharp objects.

I got this as part of my order. It is a nice sensation on the wrist. Even better if you press hard as turning it around. I got the ring one as well. Quite discreet so you can take it anywhere. I would also probably enjoy one that had a rougher texture if one is made.
It is strong durable great for someone who is a little rough.
They've been super helpful for calming me down and its the first thing I've found that works for it.

We like it but it said on page for a child go large but way too big would of gone a small
this one isn’t meant to be tight. it’s best to not quite hug the wrist ie be loose for all day wear. the way to use it for safe ouch is not to roll or flick. it’s to place other hand over it press in and twist around inside of wrist applying pressure (see video on product or qr code that came with it :). hope that helps jo

Didn’t realise I needed this.
Purchased the "large plus a bit" and found it a great way to avoid the self harm urges, I went so far as to purchase a larger one so I could wear it all the time, and I gave the first one to a friend and she found it surprisingly helpful.
This has been instrumental in reducing maladaptive behaviour in myself.
I thought it may give more of a painful feeling. Maybe I got one that was too big?
Hi Joanne, its Jo (also) grin. Im very confident you're yet to use it in the most 'ouchy' way. There is a video showing that (its the least obvious way) however also happy to face time you if you like and i can demonstrate it live if helpful (0419874851). Our other two max ouch items are the calm buddi and also the spikeyring but i promise I've had others say a similar thing in person at events we have been exhibiting at and when I show them how to use it for safe ouch the 'yelp'. Hope this helps. If you have our finger spikey try it on middle finger and clench a fist , it also really hurts (safely).
I bought this for my son but I also enjoy it, what a surprise! If you are looking for a thing that I would describe as "kind ouch", this is it. It feels grounding and not painful, exactly (though this can be achieved with pressure), but it definitely gives deep, grounding stimulation.
