ARK TEXTURED Chewth Picks
ARK TEXTURED Chewth Picks
Oral chew support for regulation
Chewing can be a helpful form of regulation. When we feel anxious or on high alert, our bodies often seek movement. Chewing gives the jaw resistance and movement—sometimes called “heavy work”—which many find calming. ARK chew supports are high quality and come in a range of shapes and strengths. Choose based on the shape and firmness that best match what the mouth is seeking, rather than colour alone. For example, a long, narrow chew may suit someone who seeks chewing toward the back molars, while a wider chew may suit someone who chews across the front teeth, such as on a T-shirt.
ARK's Chewth Picks are slender, chewy supports shaped like toothpicks, with bumps on one side and ribs on the other for tactile sensory input.

I first saw chewing sensory supports ages ago and have been thinking about trying them for a long time. I was put off by the price at first, thinking "What if it does nothing for me? I can't really gift these ones away to my nibblings if they aren't a good fit."
But I've had 2 minor self-harming oral stims since I was a child that have since become a normal part of my life - cheek and lip biting, and flicking my crowded front teeth to the point of developing almost constant sores on my tongue and cheeks, and often have tears where I've ripped the skin off of my lips.
I developed those stims because I used to almost constantly get in trouble for chewing on my hair and shirt/jumper collars and cuffs.
So I ended up switching hair-chewing for the more acceptable hair-twirling (someone telling me about the 'hair-ball' story was actually more effective for this than all the telling-off was) and started chewing *myself* where no one could see.
So I figured I did have some need to chew and the worst that could happen is that I blew $30. I've easily spent that much on ice-cream or other comfort food when I had a bad day, so this was worth it to try.
I got a sample pack of Chewth Picks and a Mini-byte necklace and they have changed my life. Not only have my chesks, tongue and lips been able to heal, my stress levels have dropped dramatically. The mini-byte is excellent for when I'm on the move and don't want to risk dropping a chewth pick or risk tripping and doing myself some damage having something pointy in my mouth. Even just being able to hold it between my teeth without active chewing while driving has made a significant impact on my stress levels for the day. And the chewth picks are wonderful for my concentration when I'm at my desk and working through documents.
My only thoughts for improvement is actually more about a way to carry them around that is sanitary than the items themselves.
I got both the smooth sampler and the textured sampler packs and found that my resistance preference changes depending on which texture I'm using. Excellent and well worth the money.
Absolute beauties.
Helps distract my autistic child from chewing his fingers.
Okay, so I feel a bit like a dog with a chew toy, but these are the only things keeping my nails and hoodie strings safe
Package arrived swiftly and products are good quality. I got the assorted 3 packs of chewth picks and assorted pack of resistance bands. I using them more than expected and realising by actually purchasing sensory products that fit my needs is very helpful. First time buying anything like this. :) Would recommend.
These are pretty nice and the different types of resistance and textures are great. Overall a great product.
A really good size and shape for more subtle chewing, and is easy to chew with molars, which is what I prefer. The firmer one has softened a bit with consistent chewing but that doesn't bother me at all
I bought these to help my mother give up
Smoking. They worked a treat as she kept her hands occupied whenever sitting and watching TV.

RE SQUISHIES & Chew Supports
Please note for hygiene reasons we cannot accept these as returns if opened or handled as we cannot re sell them. No one wants a squishy or chew support handled by others lol. A tad ick.
For consumable items such as chew supports and squishies - Please note a warranty is not provided unless product is faulty on first opening. Please refer to each squishy product page for further info re life expectancy information.
If the goods are faulty, damaged on arrival or they have been incorrectly described we offer the choice of a refund or exchange.
Please contact us with 48 hours of accepting delivery & include a photo and or video.
We may ask for further images to help investigate the damage or fault.
RE SQUISHIES - Due to the flexible, squishy & stretchy nature of these products, it does mean they don’t last forever. It would be awesome if they did, but unfortunately they don't...
Depending on how they are used, they can last an hour, week or a year. All squishy and stretchy items are durable, but not indestructible. Squishies typically have a plug/join where they were filled. This is its most vulnerable spot, so if at all possible it is best to use this palm side in so the least amount of pressure is placed in the join. This will maximise its life.
They are not recommended for children who may try to bite, chew or ingest the contents. Avoid aggressive or excessive squishing, stretching and contact with any sharp objects.
Please note a warranty is not provided unless product is faulty on first opening.
