The Pick ’Em Starter Set was designed as a support tool for those who seek that highly specific “extraction” sensory experience — and for those who struggle with skin picking, hair pulling, or body-focused repetitive behaviours like trichotillomania.

This kit offers a deeply engaging, hands-on sensory process that combines focus, resistance, precision and satisfaction. It’s immersive, calming, regulating… and honestly? Kind of addictive in the best sensory way.

People who trialled these in the sample phase were genuinely surprised by how long they last — and how satisfying the full extraction process can be. And once the inclusions are removed? The silicone discs are still a gorgeous stim tool on their own.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Not re-meltable

Pick ’Ems are single-use discs and are not designed to be remelted.

We intentionally chose not to use remeltable silicone for two reasons:

• The remeltable silicone has an unpleasant colour and appearance

• Most importantly: overheating (or heating too many times) can be a safety risk, including potential fire risk in microwaves due to temperature variance

If you’re wanting ongoing reuse, our Put ’Em Clear Putty (sold separately) allows you to reuse extracted contents again and again. It won’t feel exactly the same as the Pick ’Em discs — but it’s still very satisfying.

Trypophobia warning

Once the stones and fibres are removed, the discs will have visible holes. If you struggle with trypophobia (an aversion to clusters of small holes), this product may not be suitable.

Natural inclusions note - The inclusions in the Pick ’Ems are
natural, and from time to time there may be small natural debris (such as tiny leaf particles). Not common, but it can happen.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Your Pick ’Em Starter Set comes in a gorgeous window tin and includes:

1) Thread Pick ’Em Disc

This disc contains a combination of
polyester threads and Japanese nylon fishing line, designed to mimic the sensory experience of pulling fibres.

Both materials provide different levels of “tug” and resistance when extracted. The polyester thread can fray or break during removal, adding to the detailed, surgical-like satisfaction of getting every last piece out. The nylon fishing line offers a stronger pull and can feel similar to removing an ingrown hair
(yes, it’s as satisfying as it sounds).

2) Stone Pick ’Em Disc

This disc contains polished natural stones
that can be popped or picked out using nails, or extracted with tweezers.

The stones can be repurposed once removed, and refill stacks are available separately. Even squishing the disc is satisfying — both with the stones inside, and once the disc is cleared.

3) Two pairs of purpose-designed stainless steel tweezers

You’ll receive two high-quality pairs of
Kaiko tweezers made from 403 chromium stainless steel (food grade, corrosion resistant, high strength & hardness rated):

• Pointy tip
• Pointed slanted tip


These are designed specifically for extracting fibres and stones and are sharp enough to do the job properly.

4) Teal Spikeyring Silicone Picking Pad

A flexible silicone pad with texture on both sides for ongoing picking support and sensory input. It can also be attached to a keyring for portable use. (Valued at $14.90)

WHY WE MADE THESE

Picking and hair pulling behaviours are
incredibly common, especially in neurodivergent individuals, and can be part of sensory seeking, self-regulation, or repetitive stress loops.

For many people, these behaviours can lead to damaged skin, bald patches, infection risk, scarring, shame and distress — and can feel very difficult to stop, even when harmful.

Pick ’Ems were designed to offer an alternative outlet for that sensory need, with a focus on harm reduction and sensory satisfaction.
